What are your operating hours?

We are open Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 15:15 PM.

Do you accept funding?

Yes.

There are four separate government funded childcare schemes available to parents with children aged 2, 3 and 4 that can make nursery affordable. 

  • Funded Early Education for Two Year olds (FEET) offers eligible families up to 15 hours of funded education and childcare per week.
    If you have been identified as meeting this criteria, please make contact with the nursery management team.
  • Universal funding of up to 15 hours a week is available for eligible families for children the term after their 2nd
  • Universal funding of up to 15 hours a week is available to all children the term after their 3rd
  • Extended 30 hours funding is an additional 15 hours for 3 and 4 year olds, which is available for eligible families.

Working parents may be entitled to assistance with their childcare fees. We will do everything we can to help you understand the choices and access the funding that you might be eligible for.

What funded sessions do you offer?

Funded Sessions
Our day is split into 2 sessions

Universal 15 Hours

EYPP / Early Learning for 2 year olds (Previously FEET Funding)

Session 1 (Butterflies) - Preschoolers 3 - 4 years old    8:45 - 11:45  

Session 2 (Caterpillars) - 2 - 3 years old     12:00 - 15:00


3 – 4 preschool / Working Parents eligible 2 year olds

Session 1 (Butterflies)  3 hrs 15 mins - 08:30 – 11:45                      

Session 2 (Caterpillars) 3 hrs 15 mins - 12:00 – 15:15


Extended 30 Hours Funding 9:00 – 15:00
           
Universal 15 Funded Hours - 09:00 - 12:00   
Extended 15 Funded Hours - 12:00 – 15:00

Please note that where sessions are booked outside of your funded hours, additional charges will apply.        

Where additional sessions are booked, Scallywags Children’s Nursery will raise invoices which will be issued on your childs first day each term.  We ask that these fees are settled in full no later than the date noted on the invoice, which will be the nursery’s last day at the end of each half term. 

 

Are there any charges above my funded hours?

Funded hours are for 3 hours, additional charges will apply for used hours not covered by the universal, feet and or working parents.

15 hours 

  • Extended pick up - 11:30 - 11:45 - £5 per session
  • Extended pick up - 15:00 – 15:15 - £5 per session
  • Lunch Club - 11:45 - 12:30 - £7.50 per session

30 hours 

  • Early Bird Session - 08:30 – 09:00  - £10 per session 
  • Extended pick up - 15:00 – 15:15 - £5 per session 

There is also a voluntary consumables charge of £1 per session which applies to all funded sessions                         

Consumable contribution, this goes towards the cost of providing the children with milk, additional snacks, wipes, toiletry materials and extracurricular activities.

What qualifications do your educators hold?

Our educators hold relevant early childhood education qualifications and are dedicated to providing high-quality care and learning experiences for children.

Do you offer private sessions?

Yes, these will be subject to availabilty.

Without government funding, non-funded sessions are chargeable
